Buff Nerd!!!

 It's been a week now, and I am SORE. I've been going to the gym, waking up at 5:30 am before the kids are up, and working out at the community center!

I can't explain why, but I haven't really had any trouble getting myself out of bed! Which is a surprise, because I sure like to sleep! I think it's just been nice to get away from the kids, listen to an audiobook, and exercise!

I told my doctor last month about how stressed I was, and she told me that meditation was good, but exercise would be better. What really did me in was some encouragement from Jordan, though. He saw me filling out a form for LiveToLearn, a mental health program that works with my insurance, and suggested therapy (still on the table) and exercise.

My goal for the year was to become a buff nerd, and the joke was that I was already halfway there! And hey, after Jessi and I lost a million pounds, I'm looking good! We found some Medium Tall shirts, which fit me, and I look very striking in them!

It's been good for my stress, definitely. It's like I start out the day with a higher threshold, and I'm less likely to get overwhelmed!

I get hungry more often, and it's an hour taken straight out of my usual sleep time, so it's certainly not without ANY consequence. But I'm really looking forward to making a habit of this!

So, that's what I've been up to! Hopefully developing a healthy skill that will serve me well for years to come!


They're at that point where Battleship is half a game, and half peg-style building blocks!

Crash is growing a beard!

For a week, Daniel would bring home cardboard from his art class and ask me to cut it into swords. He's my sweet apple who doesn't fall far from the tree!


Our current scheme to throw healthy food at our kids is fruit cocktail! I cut up whatever fruit we have and toss it in their bowls! Then I give them toothpicks, because they're picky little goobers, and pick out their favorites!
